I can’t believe we are at 5 months! Kira and Caelyn are sleeping about 10 hours in a stretch overnight, can wear 0-3, 3 and 6 month clothes, depending on the item and how big they can pull off without looking silly. They love each other very much and will touch faces, hold hands or pull at each others clothing. They already low key fight over toys and will both pull toys away from each other (Kira does this more often though), but they don’t mind sharing.
Caelyn loves her new trick of rolling over and did it during a nap today and got mad afterwards. Anytime she is on her back, she will almost immediately flip over and she is very good at getting her knees underneath her and putting her butt in the air. In fact, she lifts herself over her lower arm when she rolls to her belly. She has really turned a corner these past few days with how content she is and while naps area struggle, she is working on a new normal. We have another evaluation for her tortocollis and plagiocephaly from in utero and are doing stretches in the meantime. She loves kisses on her cheeks, the cat and her feet. She is talking more and even does so when she is by herself. She also gave her first belly laugh the day before she rolled over and you can get her going uncontrollably now.
Kira is the fussy one right now and I think she is working on some new development on her brain, because she has been more cuddly and generally discontented. She loves to stand and thinks sitting is for the birds. She spins in circles on her tummy and loves her fish and a musical elephant toy. She loves to scream out of excitement, boredom, frustration, etc. and is constantly doing so or babbling. She is really good with her hands and will grab at anything and put it directly into her mouth. If it doesn’t fit, then everyone around her will hear all about it. She is starting to outgrow her sister and I can feel her getting heavier. She loves the water and gives big smiles whenever you look at her. She has been needing a bit more sleep during the day and middle of the night “hello” screams come from her side of the crib most mornings before she falls back asleep. She is a very spirited little girl for sure.
Mom and dad love seeing them become more active, independant and more in love with us and each other. We also love the new play room we made, as it allows them to have a safe place to explore what their bodies can do.
