2nd birthday

Well their birthday on 3/21 started the official quarantine in most states, so we had to cancel their birthday party. I was so upset, for many reasons, and was so excited to have a party with lots of friends from their daycare coming. However, we were still able to get their professional photos taken and I am so grateful I had scheduled them.

Another one bites the dust

I completed my coursework June 15th, my degree was conferred June 30th and now I have my diploma to prove it! I worked on this through getting married, through a difficult multiples pregnancy, through having twin newborns, going back to work and working an internship (unpaid) at the same time. So very proud of myself AND I am equally proud to show my girls that they can do anything they want to do in this life.

Caelyn and Kira,

I did this for my community and for those I’ve met and been able to support so far, but I did this for you too. I want you to see that women can be anything we want to be. We can be mothers, we can have careers, we can be educated and we can make a difference in the world around us. I love you both so much and I love you enough to want to be an active part in improving the world you will grow up in on a larger scale. I want you to see love and compassion in our home, and with how we interact and view other people. I am so excited to have the tools to show this to you as you grow and this is just the beginning.

Love,

Momma

Happy easter!

Despite some drama today, the girls and I had a full day! We went to church this morning, which was admittedly the first time I have gone with them since they were born. It was too scary to think about having two babies at once and even today was mega anxiety inducing. Caelyn and Kira did as well as I could expect them to and I wore them through about the first half of the service (although we were a little late). Kira screamed “da da” in the middle of prayer and Caelyn cried when I eventually left them in childcare because they were making too many happy noises during the sermon for my comfort. Our wonderful nanny snapped a picture of us before we left and helped with transitioning Caelyn as well.

After we got home and they napped, we did Easter baskets. Kira flipped through the pages of her new book and picked everything out to examine it. Caelyn wasn’t super interested in her basket and wanted her sister’s instead.

Finally, we decorated cookies that Aunt Amanda made and sent them.

One last picture grouping is too adorable not to share. Yesterday the girls and I decorated their first eggs:):)

Daddy love

Girls,

You may read more things written from my perspective and you may see more pictures that came from my phone in the forms of girl selfies. However, I promise that your daddy loves you and cares so much about how you are raised and how you grow up. You are our world forever and that’s a guarantee.

Love,

Momma

Oh Christmas Tree

The Miller girls are all fighting a cold, but we didnt want to wait another week to get our first Christmas tree for our family of four. Caelyn loved touching our prickly blue spruce and they both loved the cuddles. It really is a beautiful thick tree and I am excited to put some new ornaments on the tree for the first time to celebrate their first Christmas tree. Chris was a good sport, seeing as he is my little grinch and even walked around with us and loaded the tree without any complaints or jokes.

8 months!

My miracles are 8 months old!

Kira has her two front top teeth that started coming in two days ago and she has the biggest smile! She started army crawling today and is such a sweet and good eater. She loves cuddles and seeing things outside and can grab good with her finger and thumb. She has FPiES and is currently dairy, wheat, soy, and oat free and has an allergy to egg and rice, so we are eating lots of fresh veggies, fruits, meats and basically nothing prepared, bought or premade. She loves any toy sister has and loves her toys and being worn by momma. She JUST started army crawling and rocking on her hands and knees today!

Caelyn has gone from army crawling to normal crawling and is very mobile. She likes doing a downward dog and tries to stand up from it. She has started stealing food from sisters tray, because she goes through her tray very fast by shoving it all in her mouth and having left overs drop in her bib pouch. She is very sweet, but still dramatic and screams and throws fits when she is upset.

Both babies have had some head bumps and a few small bruises from all their learning and moving and dropped their 530am feed about a week ago now, so they sleep from 7-630 overnight. I still wake up to pump at 530, but at least I have the option to sleep through now. The girls have tried over 55 foods now and comeThanksgiving, we will be adding two more! They both love their nanny, Katelynn, and are doing so well with her during the day. They also have only taken two naps the past two days, so we may have the beginning of dropping their third nap as well. Well see;)

Every day is an adventure and it’s so awesome to live it with Chris and watch our babies grow:)

Chris actually was the one who saw Caelyn crawl first and has been really getting involved with taking care of them. Hell get on the floor to play or help then crawl, stand, etc. and is feeding them cereal one piece at a time to work on fine motor skills. It is so great to see him getting involved and being just our little family:)

P.s. yes, those are the same sleepers from their 6 month. They are still wearing 3-6 month items and are somewhere in the 13-14 pound range right now.
